A New Adventure Set in a Galaxy Far, Far Away

The Acolyte, created by Leslye Headland, is an upcoming science fiction television series set in the Star Wars universe during the High Republic era, approximately 100 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

The series follows a young woman named Aura, a padawan training under a respected Jedi Master, as she investigates a series of shocking crimes that could threaten the stability of the Republic. The series is set to explore the dark side of the Force and the origins of the Sith.

The Acolyte Cast

The series features a cast of talented actors, including Lee Jung-jae, Amandla Stenberg, Manny Jacinto, and Charlie Barnett.

Lee Jung-jae, known for his role in the Netflix series Squid Game, plays a mysterious character known only as the Archivist. Amandla Stenberg, who starred in The Hate U Give, plays Aura, the young padawan at the center of the story. Manny Jacinto, of The Good Place fame, plays a Jedi Master named Sojourn. And Charlie Barnett, from Russian Doll, plays a charming scoundrel named Kree.

The Acolyte Release Date

The Acolyte is expected to premiere on Disney+ in late 2023 or early 2024. The exact release date has not yet been announced.
