Colonel Tom Parker Elvis Presleys Manager Once Claimed To Be A Foreign Agent

Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis Presley's Manager, Once Claimed to Be a Foreign Agent

The Late Music Manager's Citizenship Status Has Been Called Into Question

A theory that Colonel Tom Parker, the late manager of Elvis Presley, was not actually an American citizen has resurfaced in recent years.

Colonel Parker, whose real name was Andreas Cornelis van Kuijk, was born in the Netherlands in 1909. He emigrated to the United States in the 1920s and claimed to have become a naturalized citizen in 1936. However, there is no record of his naturalization in any public records, leading some to believe that he was never actually a U.S. citizen.

Parker's citizenship status has been the subject of speculation for years, but it was not until after his death in 1997 that the theory gained traction. In 2000, a biography of Parker claimed that he had admitted to being a Dutch citizen in a 1977 deposition. However, the deposition in question was never made public, and there is no other evidence to support the claim.

If Parker was not a U.S. citizen, it would have significant implications for his business dealings with Elvis Presley. As a foreign national, Parker would not have been able to legally enter into contracts with Presley, and he would not have been able to manage Presley's career.

The theory that Parker was not a U.S. citizen is just that: a theory. There is no definitive evidence to support it, and it is possible that Parker was simply a Dutch immigrant who never bothered to naturalize. However, the theory is intriguing and it raises questions about the true nature of Parker's relationship with Elvis Presley.
